In short
- The service is free to use for personal and commercial purposes. No sign-up is needed.
- Results are estimates for illustration and are not financial, tax or legal advice.
- The service is provided as is, without guarantees of accuracy or availability.

1. The service and its provider
costsimulators.com (“the service”) is a collection of free online calculators that estimate the cost of everyday things such as meetings, habits, subscriptions, electricity and travel. The service is provided by:
Timo HeimonenEmail: timo.heimonen@proton.me
The service is hosted on Cloudflare. By using the service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
2. Permitted use, including commercial use
You may use the service free of charge for both personal and commercial purposes. For example, you are welcome to:
- use the calculators at work, in meetings, workshops and training sessions,
- use the results in presentations, reports, articles, videos and client work,
- share links to the service and publish screenshots of it,

No permission or payment is needed for any of the above. A mention or link back to costsimulators.com is appreciated but not required.
3. Acceptable use
When using the service, you agree not to:
- disrupt, overload or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the service or the infrastructure it runs on,
- send excessive automated traffic, or scrape the service in a way that degrades it for others,
- use the service for any unlawful purpose, or
- present the service, or a copy of it, as an official product of the provider when it is not, or imply an endorsement by the provider that does not exist.
4. Source code and licence
The source code of the service is open source and available on GitHub. It is licensed under the MIT License, Copyright © 2026 Timo Heimonen. The MIT License allows you to use, copy, modify, merge, publish, distribute, sublicense and sell copies of the software, including for commercial purposes, provided that the copyright notice and the permission notice are included in all copies or substantial portions of the software.
If you run your own copy of the service, the MIT License governs your use of the code. These terms apply to the hosted service at costsimulators.com.
5. Results are estimates
The calculators produce simplified estimates based on the values you enter and on general assumptions, such as a year having 52 weeks or 365 days. They do not take into account every factor that affects real costs, such as taxes, employer overheads, inflation or price changes.
The results are intended for illustration and general information only. They are not financial, tax, legal, health or other professional advice. You are responsible for checking the results before relying on them in decisions that matter.
6. No warranty
The service is provided free of charge “as is” and “as available”. To the extent permitted by law, the provider makes no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, availability or non-infringement. The service may be changed, interrupted or discontinued at any time without notice.
7. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, the provider is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental or consequential damages, loss of profits, loss of data or other losses arising from the use of, or inability to use, the service or its results. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, or any rights you have as a consumer under mandatory law.
8. Privacy
The calculators run in your browser and the values you enter are not sent to the provider. How data related to hosting and contact is handled is described in the privacy policy.
9. Links to other sites
The service links to external sites such as GitHub. The provider is not responsible for the content or practices of those sites, and their own terms apply when you visit them.
10. Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated from time to time. The current version is always available on this page, and the date at the top shows when it was last changed. Continuing to use the service after a change means that you accept the updated terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Finland, without regard to its conflict of law rules. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of any mandatory consumer laws of your country of residence.
12. Contact
Questions about these terms can be sent to timo.heimonen@proton.me.
