Why costsimulators.com exists
Small costs are easy to ignore. A single meeting, a coffee on the way to work or one more streaming service rarely feels expensive on its own. Add them up over a month, a year or a decade, and the numbers start to look very different.
costsimulators.com turns those everyday money questions into clear, instant answers. Each tool does one thing, asks only for the numbers it needs and shows the result immediately, so you can make better decisions about your time and money without spreadsheets or sign-ups.

How the calculators work
The calculators use simple, transparent maths. Yearly figures assume 52 weeks or 365 days a year, and projections multiply the same habit over one, five or ten years without adding inflation or price changes. The coffee, smoking, alcohol, lottery and subscription calculators also show what the same money would grow to if it were invested every month instead, at a 4% yearly return over ten years. The results are estimates meant to give you a clear picture, not financial advice.
This version shows amounts in pounds sterling, the US English version in US dollars and the other language versions in their local currency, but the maths works the same in any currency – just enter prices in the currency you use. Your settings are kept in the page address, so you can bookmark a calculation or share it with a link.
Private by design
Every calculation happens locally in your browser. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party scripts, and the site sets no cookies. The only things stored on your device are your theme and language choices. Read the privacy policy for the details.

Frequently asked questions
Is costsimulators.com free?
Yes. All tools are completely free, with no sign-up, no paywall and no adverts.
Are my numbers saved or sent anywhere?
No. Everything you enter is calculated in your browser and never sent to a server. If you share a link, the settings in that link are visible to whoever opens it.
Can I use the calculators at work?
Yes. Commercial use is allowed, including in meetings, reports, presentations and client work.
How accurate are the results?
The results are as accurate as the numbers you enter. The calculators use straightforward formulas and do not account for taxes, inflation or price changes, so treat long-term projections as estimates.
